In a unique celebration of India's cultural richness, Air India has introduced a thoughtfully curated range of festive culinary offerings across its inflight services and airport lounges. Blending tradition with hospitality, the airline is bringing regional flavours and festive favourites to passengers, turning every journey into a celebration of India's diverse heritage.
Air India Celebrating Eid with Iconic Dessert

Marking the joyous occasion of Eid, Air India is serving the iconic dessert Sheer Khurma on all flights departing on 20 March 2026. This special offering spans the airline's entire network—covering domestic routes, international flights, and return catered sectors—ensuring that passengers across all cabin classes can partake in the festive spirit. On flights featuring multiple meal services, Sheer Khurma has been seamlessly integrated into the main meal service, while refreshment services continue as per the scheduled menu.
Collaboration to Provide Seamless Service
To maintain consistency and quality, the initiative is being executed in collaboration with leading catering partners such as TajSATS, Oberoi Flight Services, Casino Air Caterers and Flight Services (CAFS), and Ambassador's Sky Chef (ASC). This ensures a consistent and premium dining experience for travellers, regardless of their route.
Culinary Celebration Beyond the Sky and Navratri Thali
The festive indulgence doesn't end in the skies. Air India has also extended its culinary celebrations to its airport lounges, offering regionally inspired menus that reflect the spirit of ongoing festivals. At the recently launched Maharaja Lounge at Indira Gandhi International Airport, guests can enjoy a specially curated Navratri thali. This menu includes delicacies such as sabudana khichdi, paneer sabzi, raita, buttermilk, kheer, and fresh-cut fruits—catering to traditional fasting preferences while delivering on taste and variety.
Gudi Padwa & Eid Festivities at Adani Lounge, Mumbai

Meanwhile, festive celebrations at the Adani Lounge in Mumbai have been equally vibrant. On 19 March, the lounge marked Gudi Padwa with a delightful spread of sweets, including shrikhand, chocolate peda, orange coconut barfi, mawa modak, and gujiya. Building on the festive momentum, the lounge is also set to offer a grand Eid menu on 21 March, featuring dishes like dal gosht, malai chicken gilafi kebab, kacchi murg biryani, paneer reshmi handi, and indulgent desserts such as shahi tukda, baklava, and phirni.
Air India — Blending Dining Experience with Tradition
Through these initiatives, Air India is redefining inflight and lounge dining by going beyond standard menus to create immersive, culturally resonant experiences. By aligning its offerings with major festivals, the airline not only enhances passenger satisfaction but also fosters a deeper connection with India's traditions.
This thoughtful integration of food and culture reflects Air India's broader vision of delivering service excellence rooted in authenticity. Whether passengers are flying across continents or relaxing in premium lounges, they are invited to savour the flavours of India's festivals—making every journey not just a trip, but a memorable celebration.
