After a year of waiting, MG Hector returned with its new flagship in the SUV segment, offering both EV and PHEV options. On August 26, 2026, JSW MG Motor India launched the Tomahawk, based on the ADAPT platform, with a starting ex-showroom price of ₹19.50 lakh for the EV and ₹25.70 lakh for the PHEV versions, respectively.
The new flagship is available in three variants—Excite, Exclusive and Essence—ranging from ₹19.50 lakh to ₹23.50 lakh for the EV and ₹25.70 lakh to ₹27.80 lakh for the PHEV. The Tomahawk PHEV is positioned as India's first mainstream plug-in hybrid SUV, bringing the advantages of both electric and petrol power to a wider range of customers.
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV – Specification, range and pricing
The Tomahawk EV ranges from ₹19.50 lakh to ₹23.50 lakh, depending on the variant and seating configuration. It is available in both 5- and 7-seater configurations and comes with a 69.2 kWh LFP battery, claiming a range of 517 km on the MIDC cycle. The electric motor generates 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque.
While specifications vary by model, its top variant offers a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a 6-way powered driver seat with memory function, rear slide and recline, and a 10-speaker Infinity sound system.

The Tomahawk PHEV version is available only as a 7-seater in the Exclusive and Essence variants and combines the power of an EV and a petrol engine. It includes a 20.5 kWh battery with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and can cover more than 1,100 km in combined range, enabling you to enjoy both short city commutes and long drives without worrying about frequent battery recharges. It also offers an EV-only range of up to 115 km. Furthermore, its electric motor and petrol engine produce 198 hp and 230 Nm of torque.
Its features and pricing differ by variant, with the Essence model's specification being identical to the top model of the EV version – a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a 6-way powered driver seat with memory function, rear slide and recline, Level 2 ADAS, V2H and a 10-speaker Infinity sound system.
