Delhi was engulfed in a celebratory mood when singers Mohit Chauhan and Akhil Sachdeva took the stage at Anandam Fest 2026, organised by the Greater Kailash constituency. The two-day event was held on 21–22 February 2026, from 1:00 PM onwards at DDA Uday Shankar Park.
Titled Greater Kailash Vidhan Sabha Anandam Fest 2026, the debut festival was intended to become an annual event that will provide a platform for businesses and artists to showcase their work and talent. Rekha Gupta, Delhi Chief Minister, addressed the audience, emphasising the importance of the state’s vibrant culture as reflected through the performances. She also performed the maha aarti, which emerged as one of the key highlights of the event.
The festival served as a platform for a flourishing cultural showcase, with performances that seamlessly blended tradition and modernity. From Rajasthani folk dance and Punjabi rap fused with bhangra to group yoga sessions, each act captured the audience’s attention and left them in awe.
Shikha Rai, MLA Greater Kailash, said, “The name Anandam Fest signifies the joy people experience by attending it. Organising the festival is a celebration of inclusivity, which our constituency represents, where people from all strata and age groups actively contribute to its development. The fest embodies the same unity we see in Greater Kailash. Our main goal is to promote culture, fitness and creativity by creating a platform to uplift local talent and businesses.”
On the success of the fest, Kapil Mishra, Minister of Tourism and Art & Culture, said, “The Anandam Fest is a major step towards making Delhi a cultural capital. Organising formats like bhajan clubbing appeals to Gen Z by bringing them closer to their culture while keeping the fun element intact. The festival has also become a space for businesses and local talent to showcase their work and build social connections.”
Business exposure while keeping the fun intact
The large number of stalls — ranging from games and food to local businesses — kept visitors engaged throughout the festival. This proved beneficial for both sides: businesses gained a promotional platform, while visitors enjoyed a variety of interactive experiences. This reflected the promise Anandam Fest fulfilled for all stakeholders.
Anandam Fest performances and major events
Spanning two days, the first day featured performances such as the maha aarti, which set the spiritual tone of the festival, and later culminated in bhajan clubbing—a contemporary take on devotional music that highlighted how modern India honours its traditions while embracing progressive ideas.
The second day placed emphasis on fitness, as Rajat Sharma, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief of India Today, flagged off a 5 km marathon at 6:00 AM from Hansraj Marg, with participation from people across all age groups. Highlights included the Elderly Ramp Walk and GK Got Talent, which won hearts with the confidence and talent displayed by senior citizens.
The second evening commenced with a performance by Danish Jaitly and his band, setting the mood for the night. His electrifying set, featuring songs from different genres and eras, filled the audience with energy and excitement.
The cornerstone of the festival was the much-anticipated performances by Mohit Chauhan and Akhil Sachdeva. Their electrifying live sets — followed by a memorable duet — mesmerised the crowd and provided a fitting climax to the celebration.
The festival successfully blended devotion, community spirit, fitness and contemporary entertainment, while the headline performances made it a memorable neighbourhood celebration.
