Over the past decade, Shivan & Narresh have defined India's resort wear landscape with sensual silhouettes, striking prints, and a free-spirited approach to travel-inspired fashion. With the Palmera Pool Pop-Up, the brand extends this philosophy into physical space, creating a setting where their iconic prints, textures, and colour palettes interact with the architecture and ambiance of the poolside, redefining the notion of experiential luxury.
The Palmera print: inspired by Nobuyoshi Araki's Japan
At the heart of this design is the Palmera print from the Araki Series 2018, inspired by the Japanese photo-artist Nobuyoshi Araki and discovered by the designers during a holiday to Japan in 2017. The print juxtaposes graphic botanical motifs with the enigmatic gaze of panthers, all set against a soft sakura pink background—blending boldness and serenity. At the pop-up, the motif weaves seamlessly across bespoke sunbed covers, Palmera rugs, cushions, and lounge chairs. Even functional elements, like tables layered with statement rugs and sculptural candle stands, or the lifeguard chair wrapped in the striking motif, are transformed into pieces of visual storytelling.
