The evening in Los Angeles during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show seemed brighter and more star-studded than ever, thanks to the lineup that stepped onto the runway to make new fashion statements. But what became the talk of the town was Kylie Jenner’s runway debut and the Fantasy Bra she wore that night.
The $50 million Fantasy Bra returned to the runway for the first time since the 2018 show. It is the most valuable Fantasy Bra ever made, surpassing the previous record-holder by around $35 million.
As Kylie walked down the runway, she wore the diamond-encrusted Fantasy Bra, featuring 4,410 natural diamonds, including a 75.54-carat radiant-cut Fancy Vivid yellow diamond at its centre. She paired it with expansive white feathered angel wings and a gauzy white mini skirt.
While Kylie dazzled on the runway, the cameras also captured Dune star and her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, alongside her mother, Kris Jenner, cheering her on from the audience.
The piece that elevated the entire runway with its fine craftsmanship and design was created by New York jewellery brand Jacob & Co. It took a team of 15 artisans more than 1,000 hours to complete the piece, which weighs just under two kilograms.
In a statement about the piece’s craftsmanship, Jacob & Co. shared its approach and vision on social media:
“When Victoria’s Secret asked us to reimagine one of its most iconic creations, it started with a single question: what if there was no fabric at all?
What began as a pencil sketch became a masterpiece of jewelry engineering. Crafted from 3,218 individually designed components, the creation moves with the body like lingerie, combining the brilliance of high jewelry with the fluidity of fashion.”
The craftsmanship and vision are reflected in a piece that has become a standout creation in the fashion world, worthy of being displayed as a museum showpiece.
